Monthly Parking Information
As part of our continuing commitment to quality service for our customers, Imperial Parking Corporation (“Impark”) offers monthly parking passes for sale at most of our locations. We offer a variety of payment options to settle the amounts charged for this parking. These options include pre-authorized bank payment, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), post dated cheques and cash.

If you wish to pay by post dated cheque or cash, we require a credit card number as a back-up form of payment. Should our monthly parking rentals department be unable to secure payment via cheque or cash, then your current month’s parking invoice will be charged to your credit card.

Your privacy is a top priority for Impark, and we are committed to the security of your personal information.

Personal Information Collected
Personal data is collected for the sole purpose settling the monthly parking transaction and allowing us to serve you best. The type of information we usually collect and maintain in your customer file includes the following:

  • Name
  • Mailing Address
  • Telephone Number
  • Bank Account Number (for pre-authorized bank payment option)
  • Credit Card Number (as back-up for post dated cheque and cash payment options)
  • Vehicle Make (Optional)
  • License Plate Number (Optional)

Use of Information
Your name and address are used for billing purposes and in case we need to notify you of a rate change. Phone numbers are used to collect on outstanding payments due. What this means is that we will not use personal information obtained for monthly parking purposes to collect on outstanding parking notices which you may have received.

Banking Information
The collection of pre-authorized bank payment information is limited to your banking institution and bank account number. We cannot view your bank balance or take money from your account in any amount or for any purpose other than that which you gave us permission when you signed up for monthly parking.

Once per month, Impark posts all pre-authorized monthly parking payments. This information is sent to our bank in a secure, encrypted format. Our bank then debits each individual monthly parking customer’s bank account for the applicable monthly parking rental fee.

To find out more about our bank’s privacy policy, you can view it under the privacy notice at www.hsbc.ca

Credit Card Information
The collection of credit card payment information is limited to your credit card number and expiry date. We cannot view your credit card balance or your credit limit, nor can we charge your credit card for any amount or for any purpose other than that which you gave us permission when you signed up for monthly parking.

Monthly parking payments made by credit card are posted once per month to the bank. The bank then settles each individual transaction with the appropriate credit card holder.

Credit Card Use at Parking Lots
As part of our continuing commitment to quality service for our customers, Imperial Parking Corporation (“Impark”) offers the option to pay for parking by credit card at a large percentage of our locations. Credit card numbers are used exclusively for settling the amounts charged for parking. Customers can usually pay by Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Your privacy is a top priority for Impark, and we are committed to the security of your personal information.

Collection of Information – Metered Lots
The collection of your credit card information at our metered parking locations is limited to your credit card number, expiry date and the time, date and amount of the transaction. Our machines do not read the name associated with any particular card. This information is stored in an encrypted format in each meter’s memory and remains with the meter until a service technician downloads this information with specialized custom handheld computers and software.

Once this information is downloaded to a handheld computer it is then purged from the meter’s memory. The information from the handheld computers is subsequently downloaded at our offices into our computer systems. Transaction data from our meters is sent to the bank daily for processing.

To find out more about our bank’s privacy policy you can view it under the privacy index at www.royalbank.com.

Collection of Information – Attended Lots
Impark has been a pioneer in the field of accepting credit cards for payment of parking charges. Many of the systems in use in the industry today were originally developed by Impark in close cooperation with the banks. Impark is still one of the only parking companies using a secure, proprietary transaction processing system at its attended parking locations.

The collection of your credit card information at our attended parking locations is limited to your credit card number, expiry date and the time, date and amount of the transaction. Our machines do not read the name associated with any particular card. This information is stored in an encrypted format in each fee computer’s memory and remains in that fee computer until transmitted to the bank. Transmission is done daily, at which point the fee computer’s memory is purged of the data.

Security Precautions
Impark takes every reasonable precaution to protect your personal information. Access to your credit card information is limited to our Technical Services Department staff and selected senior Impark Information Systems employees. Our secure server software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure e-commerce transactions.
